1. Florida 197.325
FLORIDA UTAHVAULT VAULT Breanne King 9.825 Jessica Duke 9.775 Savannah Evans 9.875 Gritt Hofmann 9.850 Ashley Reed 9.900 Nina Kim 9.825 Nicola Willis 9.850 Nicolle Ford 9.825 Katie Rue 9.825 Kristina Baskett 9.700 Tiffany Murry 9.875 Ashley Postell 9.925 VT: 49.325; Running:49.325 VT: 49.200; Running: 98.500 Utah vault notes: Jessica Duke's vault look very solid. I thought she would get between a 9.8 and a 9.85. My angle is from the back so maybe I missed something. Gritt's vault was as good as I've seen her do it. Good flight, great stick. Based on previous observations, I thought Nina Kim would approach the 9.90 mark. I'm misisng something clearly. Perhaps Nicolle Ford landed not quite dead center off the vault, but it was close if in fact it happened at all. Kristina Baskett had great amplitude and form but landed almost in a squat. She did not lean forward or anything though. Ashley Postell had a monster vault. Biggest vault of the night.

BARS BARS Sherie Owens 9.775 Dominique D'Oliveira 9.775 Tiffany Murry 9.850 Jessica Duke 9.775 Nicola Willis 9.850 Nina Kim 9.850 Corey Hartung 9.800 Ashley Postell 9.925 Ashley Reed 9.875 Kristina Baskett 9.875 Samantha Lutz 9.875 Nicolle Ford 9.875 UB:49.250; Running: 98.575 UB: 49.300; Running: 49.300 Utah bar notes: sorry for the delay. here goes ... Dominique D'Oliveira had the best routine I've seen from her in probably two years. She started off what I think is one of our best bar sets of the year. Jessica Duke must have been docked pretty hard for a hop on her landing. The rest of her routine was very good. I thought Nina Kim looked like she was swinging a little slower than usual on the bars, but she hit her handstands, etc., and really nailed her dismount. Ashley Postell's routine was just plain gorgeous. I don't know how she (or anyone) could improve on that routine. One judge was really tough on Kristina Baskett's routine (gave her a 9.8 I think). All I saw was one barely-off handstand ... so close it almost looked straight up. Nicolle Ford really rocked on ths routine. The same judge who was underwhelmed by Kristina's routine felt the same way about Queenie's. x
BEAM BEAM Ashley Reed 9.825 Kristen Riffanacht 9.725 Katie Rue 9.775 Kristina Baskett 9.775 Corey Hartung 9.825 Nina Kim 9.875 Chantelle Tousek 9.825 Gritt Hofmann 8.950 Samantha Lutz 9.925 Nicolle Ford 9.925 Breanne King 9.875 Ashley Postell 9.900 BB: 49.275; Running: 147.850 BB: 49.200; Running: 196.675 Utah beam notes: Not Riffy's best routine. She had several little balance checks and one big one. She didn't really get in her rhythm. Kristina Baskett really got tagged for two balance checks after her flight series and punch front. She looked quite confident and, based on everything I've seen tonight, I'm shocked she didn't score in the mid-9.80s. I saw Nina Kim's routine as a 9.95 vs. a 9.875. That is by far the best beam routine so far tonight. She was totally smooth, clean and in control--start to finish. Gritt Hofmann actually didn't fall off the beam, but she did touch her hands on it. Also, I wonder if I missed something before her mount ... like that she maybe balked and then went back and started over. If there is such thing as a 10.0 on beam anymore, Queenie deserves it for that routine. wow. There was not a single hesitation, not a batted eyelash. This was beam at its best. She should have won this event running away. x
FLOOR FLOOR Katie Rue 9.875 Kristen Riffanacht 9.725 Ashley Reed 9.300 Nina Kim 9.800 Savannah Evans 9.850 Nicolle Ford 9.300 Nicola Willis 9.950 Kristina Baskett 9.725 Corey Hartung 9.925 Ashley Postell 9.900 Tiffany Murry 9.850 Gritt Hofmann 9.825 FX:49.450; Running: 197.325 FX: 48.975; Running: 147.475 Utah floor notes: Kristen Riffanacht really had a nice routine. I'm clearly not in tune with some of the officials tonight. She nailed her tumbling and every leap but one (a small step back). Nina Kim's routine was mostly clean and flowed well. She did take a half step out of her pike double back on the middle pass. Nicolle Ford's streak has ended, but barely. She was cruising through her floor routine and seemed to lose her balance on her final pike double back, which she couldn't regain so she fell on her butt and did a pose. I think sometimes when the gymnast goes out of bounds it has more than a tenth deduction on the final evaluation. Kristina Baskett had a huge pike double back and did step out of bounds but the rest was good. Ashley Postell's floor routine was simply awesome. Her tumbling was huge, clean and landings stuck. On her Arabian double front, she did a really nice job staying in bounds by balancing on her tiptoes. This was a routine that would make floor finals at the championships for sure. Again, I'm not sure why Gritt Hofmann was docked so much on a floor routine jammed with really strong, big tumbling and pretty dance. She did come out of one leap a little off early in the routine. Ashley Postell had a balance check kon her first punch front but really was sharp after that. That cool handstand she does she must have held for a minute. Even the crowd here was impressed.
