Utes Face Hoyas Saturday in D.C.
The University of Utah women's basketball team returns to action Saturday, after more than a week off. The Utes are in Washington, D.C. for a Saturday afternoon matchup with Georgetown University. Tipoff with the Hoyas is slated for 3 p.m. EST.
Utah's last action was back on Dec. 20, when the Utes defeated Northwestern 80-69 at the Huntsman Center in Salt Lake City. Utah returned to the practice floor on Wednesday, before traveling to the nation's capital Thursday. The Utes will practice at Georgetown Thursday and Friday in preparation for their final non-conference matchup of the regular season.
Georgetown also played its last contest Dec. 20. The Hoyas defeated Savannah (Ga.) State by a count of 77-50. GU opened with a pair of losses, followed by seven straight wins. The Hoyas have split their last four.

Utes Pane on the Glass
Utah has been dominant on the boards for much of the 2006-07 season so far. The Utes have won or tied in the rebounding battle in 11 of 12 games. Utah has out-rebounded the opposition by seven or more in nine of its 12 contests. Utah's average rebound margin of +8.2 is the best in the Mountain West Conference. Utah's 10-rebound edge against Northwestern marked the fifth time Utah has held a double-digit advantage on the boards. The Utes are also tops in the MWC in rebounding defense, giving up just 31.6 caroms a contest.
