SALT LAKE CITY -- Utah senior defensive back Eric Weddle earned his eighth recognition as an All-American Friday. CollegeFootballNews.com has included Weddle on its First-Team All-America list.
Weddle is Utah's first defensive first-team All-American since Luther Elliss in 1994.
First-team awards for Weddle include: American Football Coaches Association (AFCA), SportingNews.com, SportsIllustrated.com, CBSsportsline.com, rivals.com and CollegeFootballNews.com. He has won second-team recognition from the Associated Press and the Walter Camp Football Foundation (WCFF).
Weddle and his Utah teammates are currently preparing to face Tulsa in the Bell Helicopters Armed Forces Bowl on Dec. 23 in Fort Worth, Texas.
