Utah freshman receiver/kick returner Brent Casteel has been named an honorable mention Freshman All-American by The Sporting News. Casteel, a redshirt freshman, ranks third on the team in receptions with 38. His 1,098 all-purpose yards, which ranks second on the team and ninth in the Mountain West Conference, includes 426 receiving yards and 208 rushing yards (on 35 carries). He leads the Utes in kickoff returns with 20 and stands fourth in the conference in kick return average (23.2). His best receiving game came against TCU when he caught four passes for 77 yards. He rushed for a season-best 74 yards and a touchdown in Utah's season-opener (his first game as a Ute) against Arizona. Casteel's top game as a returner was against San Diego State, when he returned four kicks for 102 yards.
