SALT LAKE CITY -
Utah All-America gymnast Melissa Vituj has been named a third-team CoSIDA Academic All-American. Vituj, who has a 3.45 GPA in health promotion and education, led Utah into the NCAA Super Six Championship all four years of her career and was an 11-time All-American and four-time NCAA floor exercise finalist. She placed third on the floor exercise at the 2004 NCAA Championships. She was the 2004 NCAA South Region all-around and balance beam champion and Utah's only three-time Most Valuable Gymnast ever. The native of Ada, Mich., won 48 event or all-around titles in her illustrious career and her name appears eight times in Utah's top 10 all-around scoring list.
