LOS ANGELES -
The Utah women's gymnastics team makes its record 23rd-consecutive NCAA Championships appearance tonight in UCLA's Pauley Pavilion. The Utes must finish in the top three of the championships' toughest session to advance to the Super Six tomorrow. Utah is in the same preliminary session as UCLA, Alabama, Michigan, LSU and Arizona State.
For the first time in NCAA history, the championships will be conducted on a podium, such as is used in international competitions like the Olympics and USA Championships.
Utah will open competition at 7:00 p.m. PDT (8:00 p.m. MDT) on the uneven bars. The live stats link for the NCAA Championships was changed on Wednesday. It is now http://www.ncaasports.com/gymnastics/womens/results.
The NCAA does not allow individual schools to broadcast live stats over the Internet, so there will not be any live commentary on Utah's home site for the championships.
