THIS WEEK:
The University of Utah men's and women's swimming and diving teams travel to Las Vegas to take on MWC rival UNLV Saturday Nov. 6. The meet will take place at 3 p.m. MST at the Buchanan Natatorium.
NOTRE DAME, SAN DIEGO AND SAN DIEGO STATE RECAP:
For the men, Utah lost at home to the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame 123-118. Utah fell to 0-1 while Notre Dame improved to 2-0 on the year. Utah overcame an early deficit to close the gap before the final event, but it was too little too late, and Notre Dame held on for the win.
For the women, Utah traveled to San Diego to take on UC San Diego and MWC opponent San Diego State. The Utes defeated the Tritons 194-106 Friday, winning 12 of the 16 events. On Saturday, Utah defeated the Aztecs 134-104, winning 11 of the 13 events to improve 2-0 on the season and 1-0 in the MWC.
QUOTING HEAD COACH MIKE LITZINGER:
"The meets with UNLV have become some of the best we have had over the past three seasons. They are a tough squad with quality swimmers on both the men's and women's side. This is definitely one of the premier match-ups in the MWC."
