SALT LAKE CITY -- The University of Utah Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) is sponsoring a community service project to benefit children in the Phillipines, who are in desperate need of vaccines.
For just $1, a red Utah Utes wristband can be purchased and all the profits will go directly toward purchasing vaccinations for needy children in the Phillipine islands. This is an opportunity for fans, students, alumni and others to show their support for the Utes and contribute to the welfare of needy children in another part of the world.
Wristbands will be sold by Ute golfer Jake Sowby and Ute football player Morgan Scalley Tuesday morning from 9:30 a.m. through 11:30 a.m. in front of the Marriott Library. Sowby is the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee member behind the wristband program, while Scalley is the Utah SAAC President.
Wristbands may be purchased between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. at the Burbidge Academic Center on campus, at the Sports Den at Foothill Village and at various University of Utah sporting events.
