RIPTON, VT. - RIPTON, Vt. - The University of Utah Ski Team has moved into second place behind Denver ath the NCAA Championships. Thus far, the competition has been dominated by schools from the Western Region, with Colorado in third place.
Thursday's competition featured the men's and women's giant slalom events. Jernej Bukovec finished in a tie for ninth place to lead the Utah men. Jed Schuetze finished 12th, while Scott Woodland finished 17th.
The women's team was led by Petra Svet's 12th place finish, followed by Annik Boulva in 13th, and April Mancuso in 15th.
Competition will continue on Friday with the men's 20-kilometer freestyle and the women's 15-kilometer freestyle nordic events.
