Neringa Statkeviciute was named MWC Swimmer of the Week on Wednesday. This marks the second time in her career the sophomore swimmer has received this award. Statkeviciute won her first award on Nov. 7. The award follows her performance in dual meets against Pacific and San Diego State in Salt Lake City.
Against Pacific on Nov. 16, Statkeviciute finished first in the 100-yard free with a time of 51.61. On Nov. 17 against San Diego State, the Lithuania native took top honors in the 50-yard free (24.20), 100-yard free (52.70) and the 200-yard free (1:53.38). The sophomore has six consecutive first-place finishes in the 100-yard free this season.
The Utes return to competition Jan. 11 against Washington in Federal Way, Wash., at 1:00 p.m. (PST).
