Men's Golf Places Fifth At USD Invite

VISTA, Calif.-- The Utah golf team placed fifth out of 14 teams at the USD Invitational with a three round total of 912. The Utes were lead by senior Gregg Oliphant who placed fourth and finished four-over-par. He had a three round total of 225 (75-77-73). Oliphant was in seventh place going into Tuesday's final round. Shawn Edwards was not far off the pace placing sixth after entering the final round in 15th place. Edwards shot 226 over three rounds (76-78-72). Brock Padilla placed 24th (74-80-77*231) and Ryan Ellis finished 29th (77-78-77*232). Lance Richards was disqualified.
The Utes will play in the Anteater Invitational hosted by UC Irvine Mar. 27-28.
