Hausknecht Shines On Second Day Of U.S. Open

AUBURN, ALA.- U.S. Open competition continued today at the Auburn University Aquatics Center.
Ute Heidi Hausknecht made a huge splash in the 100 fly. She earned the sixth-place position with a final time of 1:01.46. Hausknech.sat in the third position with a time of 1:01.46. Hausknecht will finish the competition tomorrow with the 100 free.
Freshman Kristen Kaiser, got her first taste of big competition today. With a time of 4:54.20 in the preliminaries of the 400 IM, Kaiser was sitting in the 14th position in a field of 76 swimmers. Unfortunately, Kaiser was disqualified from the finals of the event. There is still a bit of swimming left for Kaiser, tomorrow, she will swim in the 200 fly and 800 free competitions.
