PARK CITY, Utah - The University of Utah Ski Invitational resumed on Feb. 20 with the men's and women's cross country skate races. Having six of the Invitational's eight events completed, Denver is clinging on to a 4.5 point lead over the Utes for first place in the team standings. Utah's sophomore Patrick Casey had a career day, taking second in the men's skate. Two other Utes finished in the top five with Casey, as Rune Kollerud took fourth, and Frode Kollerud placed fifth. In the women's skate, Hailey Wappett was Utah's top finisher at ninth place followed closely by Kristina Joder, who took tenth. The Utah Invitational concludes tomorrow with the freestyle cross country races at Park City's White Alpine Touring track.
