CORVALLIS, Ore. - The Utah women's swimming team fell to Oregon State 124-107. It was the Utes second meet of the season bringing their record to 0-2.
Utah put in some good swims including a first-place spot in the 100 butterfly by Erin Blundell (58.72). Blundell also swam to a second-place finish in the 200 fly.
Utah took the 1-2-3 spots in the 400 IM placing Melissa Chamberlin first, Britt Stubbendorf second and Laura Beckstead third. Chamberlin also won the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:24.94. Amber Nye swam to a first-place finish in the 200 back (2:14.39) and Heike Kutz was first in the 500 free (5:18.37).
The Utah 200 free relay team of Blundell, Kutz, Lisbeth Jensen and Jamie Wayman also swam to a first-place finish.
The Utes return to the water tomorrow against Washington. The Utah women's team joins the men in Seattle, Wash., to compete against the Huskies Fri., Nov. 12 at 6:00 p.m.
